Call for Proposals

To submit a presentation proposal online, you must be logged into the NMC Conference Management System. If you have registered for an NMC Conference in the past, your user name and password should be in the system; if you do not have an account please create one now, and then return here to submit your proposal. If you do not recall your name or password, or run into any issues, please contact the NMC Summer Conference Helpdesk.

When submitting a proposal, each individual must login with their user name and password. The proposal system is tied to the individual membership records, but you will be able to add accounts for co-presenters. Be sure when logged in to edit your profile (via the My Account link on the left) so we have your correct mailing address, phone number, and contact information.

THE NMC WANTS YOU to present at the 2012 Summer Conference... the Call for Proposals will open December 15, 2011 and will close on January 31, 2012, so start thinking now of ideas/projects/programs you may want to share this June in Boston at MIT. Besides regular breakout sessions, you can submit an idea for a pre-conference workshop, a poster/interactive/art show demonstrations, or you can consider preparing a segment for the trade-marked Five Minutes of Fame session.

Important: Before submitting a proposal, please review the proposal guidelines.

This year, the conference will have around 40 breakout sessions, compared to over 90 that we have had in the past.  The proposal review committee will be much more selective due to the limited sessions.   Please ensure that your proposal submission is compelling, creative, thought provoking, and complete.  Expert sessions and panels representing a pro/con type of debate are strongly encouraged.

Conference Session Paths

This year's program focuses on six session paths:

  • Imagine
  • Explore
  • Play
  • Create
  • Transform
  • Reflect

Session Types

The types of sessions you can submit a proposal for include:

  • Immersive Studio and Preconference Workshops
  • Breakout Sessions
  • Five Minutes of Fame
  • Poster, Interactive and Art Show Sessions

If you have any questions please contact Nancy Reeves at nancy@nmc.org or by phone at 512-445-4200.
